I am Riaan Roux, and I am not a journalist.
I am an ordinary South African. I follow the news the same way you do, and I got tired of being told what happened without being told what it means. This website and my YouTube channel are where I work that out.
What I cover
Most of my work is about accountability. I follow the Madlanga Commission, the SAPS, the courts, and the decisions the ANC-led government makes in your name. I also cover South Africa’s relationship with the United States, farm attacks, and BEE.
How I work
I go to the source wherever one exists. That means hearing footage, official transcripts, court papers, police statements and published documents. Every article lists its sources at the bottom so that you can check my work.
When a statement is only a claim, I say so. When I am giving my own opinion, I say that too.
Where I stand
I am independent. No political party, media house or organisation pays for this show or tells me what to say. I have views, and you will hear them. You do not have to agree with me.
Corrections
If I get a fact wrong, tell me through the contact page. I will check it and fix it.
